UUM ENTERTAINS DELEGATION FROM THE ZIMBABWE DEFENCE FORCES
UUM ONLINE: UUM hosted a dinner at the Sri Angsana Hall, EDC Hotels & Resorts, recently to honour the delegation from Zimbabwe, led by the Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, General Dr. Constantino Guvheya Dominic Nyikadzino Chiwenga.
The Vice-Chancellor of UUM, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, extended a warm welcome to the members of the delegation.
The welcoming dinner was held to celebrate the collaboration between Malaysia and Zimbabwe. During the reception, the Vice-Chancellor briefed the members of the delegation about UUM and its accomplishments to date.
"This academic collaboration will be mutually beneficial to both parties as it will increase the opportunities and the potential of both universities by way of the various activities that will be conducted.
"Among others, this collaboration will include activities such as staff and student exchange programmes, the joint organisation of workshops and seminars, discourses, joint research projects, and publication activities, apart from collaborative undertakings in various areas of mutual interest," said the Vice-Chancellor.
Meanwhile, General Chiwenga expressed his delight at the academic collaboration with UUM and said that he believed the ties would open up more opportunities for future collaboration.
