Bachelor of International Affairs Management with Honours [BIAM(Hons.)]
Introduction
-
BIAM has been offered since 1997 and constitutes one of the undergraduate degree programs currently offered under the School of International Studies. The general aim of BIAM Program is to produce graduates with knowledge, practical skills and deep understanding of international affairs management in an ever-changing complex global environment. To achieve this, the Program’s curriculum and structure combine traditional coursework, mandatory internship and a mini thesis that would equip and nurture students not only with practical, problem-solving and analytical skills, but also theory and knowledge in the field of international affairs. This will enable them to tackle a wide-range of political and security issues, as well as respond to the international political economy agenda in the 21st century global environment. The degree structure and curriculum are designed to ensure the (re)creation of specialists and expert that will further the boundaries of existing knowledge in the context of current global trend in politics, environment, security and socio-economics.
PROGRAM AIMS
The aims of BIAM program are as followed:
i) To produce skilled, dynamic and progressive graduates in the management of international affairs;
ii) To produce a new generation of leaders who are professional and accountable;
iii) To increase the prospect of student employment in line with the market demand from private and public sectors.CAREER PROSPECTS
Carrer prospects for BIAM [Hons} graduate span various field in both the public and private sectors. Among the job prospects available, include appointments as diplomatic and administrative offices, academicians, officers and administrators in international organizations, NGOs and multinational companies. BIAM [Hons] graduates also have the opportunity to work in research institutions as foreign affairs researcher, and socio-economy, trade and security analyst. Programme Structure
